This card was designed as a build around me rare that would make the names on every card in the deck matter

"Shield" is not an ability that creatures have and shield counters are not keyword counters

I dont think this card is outrageously strong, but it does provide a mechanic I enjoy, just like Rod of Absorption, Wand of Wonder, and Chaos Wand before it

My focus was on decks that hadn't existed before, so for example I didnt play Domain with the obvious new inclusion of Overlord of the Hauntwoods
