It is a premise that is very reminiscent of the mainline Pokmon games, as well as the classic anime, with the only difference being battling with cards instead of monsters

But its still cool to see how Pokemon mixes up the variety of cards and characters in modern sets

With that said, Hangarback Walker fills a similar role, requires no colored mana to use, and gives flying artifacts, so adding the hydra probably isn't necessary unless you want the redundancy
