He functions perfectly well all on his own, milling cards into graveyards that could potentially make him larger and letting you cast those cards every turn
You can go Voltron (and that's likely where most people will go), but you're in colors that support pillow fort, prison/stax, or even just plain stompy
(On a later turn, you may cast it for its foretell cost, even if this creature has left the battlefield.) Because the card in exile becomes foretold, you can look at it in exile

Due to this inflexibility, my thought then becomes this card is a sideboard card, and probably a stellar one at that in the right matchup
