Mana Drain Mana Drain is a definite standout among the best blue cards MTG has ever released simply because its a counterspell that turns defense into an explosive mana advantage on the next turn
It transforms into Etching of Kumano, a 2/2 with haste that exiles any creatures killed by a source you control this turn instead of just dying
Seriously though, we really should unban Splinter Twin, which holds the record for least logical banning of all time, based on the justification of shaking up the Modern meta for a Pro Tour (Remember when those were a thing?) to get people to watch coverage (Remember when that was a thing?) for a paper Modern tournament (...)
This card simply does not care about your opponents and their cheap mana rocks, free counterspells, or efficient manual storm lines
That will always be one by default, but can be scaled up quickly by a few power pumping things: Auras like Rancor that are played
Myriad Landscape itself comes into play tapped (an effective cost of one sorcery speed mana) and then requires three more mana cost at instant speed to obtain the value from the card
