It's a really good ability to have when needed
I think WotC knew how good equipment would be at triggering valiant abilities and made sure not to include much of that in the set
To gain advantage against the opponent is great, as if you set up your end board, you can Set this card, and then if the opponent activates an effect that would make them search for a card, you can chain this card in response, all thanks to it being a Quick-Play Spell Card
I have dug myself out of a lot of losing situations by suddenly assessing my creatures and artifacts to the point of sacrificing my okay to great cards in an effort to thin an opponents ranks all the way up to the utility creatures keeping them alive
