Theyre played by putting them on top of the illustration section of the original card, so you can still see the original card text but the BREAK image looks like the card illustration
In the various three or more coloured versions of UG control decks I would always chose to play a Negate over an Actual Counterspell, those kinds of deck have an unrivalled ability to deal with permanents while coloured mana is more of an issue

This build was fairly casual, but I could definitely see an all-in Swords build with the best equipment in the game working really well
