Some players may still not like this, as they prefer to have more control over their game, but I think its fun to be gifted a powerful permanent from Zedruu the Greathearted or one that they took from someone else

While the deck isnt absolutely packed with giant creatures so you can place those -1/-1 counters more freely, many of the creatures present are buffed or gain additional effects by this counter placement
