Don't get me wrong, you're not completely unhappy casting this for four in the early- to mid-game to remove a utility creature that's giving you conniptions, but in reality, the only time you want to see this is when you have 40 mana available
It works particularly well with something like Party, where you need multiple creature types on the field Unsettled Mariner A 'hate bear' that can make interaction a nightmare for your opponents, Unsettled Mariner makes anything that targets your permanents cost just that little bit extra
I realize that it is a casual favorite, but the card is a trap that leads to really bad play experiences way too often and I worry about new players picking up this deck, drawing Temple of the False God as their fourth land, and then stalling on drawing another land for a couple of turns
It only takes one mana to transform it into a 1/1 Phyrexian Blinkmoth artifact creature with flying and infect
Noncreature spells were limited a bit, turning into "artifact, instant, and sorcery spells." I believe that change was part power, part flavor
Has a reasonable amount of ramp thanks to various mana rocks
