Im not sure, but Im guessing Wizards of the Coast had the intention of releasing many of these trainer decks for Pokemon Leagues but that changed for unknown reasons

Its somewhat balanced out by having 40 lands in the deck, but Id much rather see a lower curve and one or two fewer lands with more cheap, but effective spells

Faeburrow Elder A lot of the cards I mentioned above could count as mana ramp, but I also wanted to find room for a few more just to ensure the mana to cast our big spells
