All three of these decks would be far too strong in Legacy, and in fact, despite these three being banned, we still see Dredge, MUD, and Griselbrand decks
For me, the tipping point is in the card type creatures are just much better than sorceries, adding the utility of attacking and blocking, paying sacrifice and convoke costs and everything else you need a body for in Magic
Since they can often be used in response to your opponents actions, they allow for clever and reactive gameplay
