In an attempt to make Stage-1 and Stage-2 Pokmon more enticing to play, The Pokmon Company brought in the BREAK Evolution mechanic that allowed players to place a sideways card over a Basic, Stage-1 or Stage-2 Pokmon that would give it more HP and a new Ability or attack
Similarly, if the glimmer is bounced back to your hand with a card like Mother Knows Best or put into your inkwell like with Pleakley Scientific Expert all cards in that glimmers pile will go to that area
The transformation doesn't necessarily make the card more powerful, but it maintains Flash, adds Double Strike, meaning you double the damage output in combat, and shifts the card draw from opponents drawing two cards per turn to combat damage dealt to players
What needs to be tested more
"The List" in MTG: A curated list of older cards reprinted with their original art and set symbol, but with a tiny Planeswalker symbol in the bottom-left corner
For Monster revives: Players who want to summon monsters back from their Graveyard can often do this with some caveats, but between the effects of Call of the Haunted and Dragons Rebirth, the former is easily the more worthwhile choice
